falkeandcharlotte

falkeandcharlotte is a collaboration between Falke Pisano and Charlotte Moth. After meeting, talking, finding out they like working together and thinking about the future they decided to open up a space for a period of around 2 years in Paris, to help and facilitate the making of new works, projects etc. The space will be called falkeandcharlotte and will probably open in 2008. Until then, projects will be developed in different locations.
For the first period falkeandcharlotte teamed up with Ellen de Bruijne who offered the project space of her gallery Ellen de Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam, Dolores, to serve as the quarters of a first trial period of falkeandcharlotte.

falkeandcharlotte at Dolores

Taking as a point of departure the sense that there is a latent reservoir of untapped, dormant forms of exchange and possibility out in the art world today that needs some attention Dolores will become a centre of the unknown instigating exchange amongst, artists, writers, curators.

At this stage falkeandcharlotte is not interested in making exhibitions but wants to create a situation in which possibilities are instigated through placing things together, developing a healthy contact base where a real level of exchange can take place. By proposing a series of instigative questions falkeandcharlotte hope to launch an exchange, in various forms, for the support and promotion of creativity, collective awareness and generosity.

Presentations

The presentations in falkeandcharlotte consist of two artists and two works.
The choice of artists is motivated by a desire to learn more about a particular practice and to introduce and spread knowledge of a range of practices today. The presentations also function as a series of meetings where a layered conversation can develop that is further expanded in a photocopied publication and an evening programme.

Publication

The publication explores the format of interviews, here discourse remains as discourse. Each pair of artists exposed will have interviews dedicated to them and this then becomes part of a series of interviews that will finally result in an overall publication at the end of falkeandcharlottes time in Dolores. There are a number of people involved in making of the publication other than Falke and Charlotte: Antony Hudek, Binna Choi and Francesco Manacorda (see people for more information)

We Love...

A series of evenings will be organized to run alongside falkeandcharlotte to create opportunities for people to share what they love, the shows that they have seen, books that they have read etc. Each evening will be given a theme, and announced in the agenda of the website, there will be a standard distribution of cocktails.
